Olive Wood Walking Sticks - From Israel
“Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation. having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace.” (Ephesians 2:13-15)
We are living in the day that God has chosen to fulfill many prophecies. One of the major signs that Jesus spoke about is that Israel is back in the hands of the Jewish people and Jerusalem is once again under the rule of the nation of Israel. Jesus tells us that this would happen when Jerusalem was no longer trodden under the feet of the Gentiles.
Jesus tells us that when we see this happen we need to stand up and lift up our heads, because our redemption is drawing near. We, like Peter, can shout that this is that which was spoken by the King. What exciting days. We are literally living at the beginning of the end.
Along with the God of Abraham bringing his ancient people back home we see this same God turning the heart of His church back to these people and their land. Through the blood of Jesus we have been brought near to the covenant of promise and we are no longer aliens and strangers. We have been made joint heirs to those promises and in the same way that God is bringing His chosen people from the four corners of the earth to return to Israel, He is bringing His church out of the darkness to be a vital part
of what is happening in Israel.
The Lord wants the Church to appreciate her Jewish foundation. She must understand why Israel and the Jewish people are center stage in world history again. The Church must rise up and stand with His chosen people. Paul speaks of the place that the Church must be in, relative to the Jewish people in the book of Romans. The Holy Spirit uses the olive tree and its branches to give us a perfect picture of this relationship, if we have ears to hear what He is saying.
“But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partakers with them of the rich root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root who supports you. You will say then, ‘These branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.’ Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, and you stand only by your faith.
Do not be conceited, but fear; for if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will He spare you. Behold, then, the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in; for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive
tree, how much more shall these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own live tree?” (Romans 11:17-24)
This olive wood walking stick is from the hills of Samaria and it is a reminder of who you are in Him and them. We are wild olive branches that by the grace of God have been grafted into the root. Pray that the Lord will allow a Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation of Christ to rest upon you in these awesome days that we are living in.
