Homer's e-pistle

Early on in my walk with the Lord in the Spirit I was confronted with the consequences of trying to obey the law. I had moved my young family to the country and we were endeavoring to get back to nature and live as close to the earth as possible. This included cows and chickens and organic gardening. We were diligent in eating right, or at least in what we thought was right.

The major problem in all of this is that the rules are forever changing based on the latest information that someone has come up with. It is amazing how many pill bottles we can put on the counter at the local health food store. I was forever learning but never coming into the knowledge of the truth. This all changed over night when I was shown what happened at the cross on our behalf by Jesus. Praise God that Jesus is TRUTH.

We decided to give our Jersey milk cow a rest from milking each Sunday based on scripture telling us that we needed to observe the Sabbath and not to work. It was amazing to watch our wonderful cow quit giving milk and at the same time consuming more feed. This was a wonderful object lesson for us as a family and when we started milking her again on Sunday we were amazed at how much more milk she gave and at the same time she quit eating so much feed.

Jesus is the Word of God and has been so before the foundation of the world. This Word became flesh and dwelt among us and walked out the law so that it could be fulfilled by a perfect person. All of the decrees and ordinances that were against us were nailed to the tree of knowledge and He declared that it was finished. What was finished? It is for sure that the law was finished in regards to working any kind of righteousness and was replaced with faith. Glory!

We still love good wholesome food and we take a vitamin mineral supplement. We endeavor to thank the Lord daily for the power of His resurrection working in our bodies based on Romans 8:11 where we are told that His spirit is in us doing the same thing He did when the Father sent Him (the Spirit) to bring life into the dead body of Jesus in the tomb. May the Lord help each of us as we endeavor to walk our life in Him.

Jesus promised us that when He baptized us in His Holy Spirit we would receive power and will be witnesses of His grace and love out to the ends of the earth. It is the desire of the Father to give you health and wealth first thing each day. I believe that Jesus is standing before the Father on our behalf each day declaring we are well in every facet of our lives.
