"Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not see it, to hear what you hear, and have not heard it." (Luke 10:23-24)
I see greater light and revelation coming to those who have opened their spiritual eyes and ears to what the Lord is doing and saying. We are living in a blessed time if we dare to focus on Jesus and fully realize that we are living in the last days of the last days. I have folks ask me how to enter into this realm of the spirit and I tell them and you just what we must do if we want to become a fellow traveler with Jesus.
We must first be willing and then simply be obedient to do those little things that the Spirit of God directs us to do. We are told that Jesus went about doing good (Acts 10:38) and since He is the same today as He was 2,000 years ago we can expect Him to be doing the same sort of thing today – through us.
Case in point. Ruby and I literally handed out thousands of cups water to all those who came into the Mini Golf in Ariel, over the past seven years. Don and Sheryl Patrick, who are looking after the mini golf these days are doing the same. Jesus tells us that we will not lose our reward if we give a drink in His name. (Mark 9:41) Pretty simple ministry, but carries great rewards for our obedience. When you give to this ministry you are helping to buy the cups to pour the water into and in this simple giving you are earning rewards. Thanks for your help.
Ruby shared with me how some of the neighbor girls came to our door the other day in the heat of the day and asked if she could give them a drink. You have to understand that it is not an easy thing to just drop in. We are back in the woods away from the normal flow of people. The closest house is almost three blocks away but these precious young girls had been playing in our creek and decided to stop by to visit with Ruby.
Of course Ruby gave them a drink along with a cookie or two and they went on their way. In about a hour they showed up again and each of them had gone home and took the trouble to write a thank you note for the hospitality and love they sensed and received from Ruby.
Many years ago when we first began this walk with Jesus in the Spirit we had a man come to the fellowship we were attending and he told us that he had been sent by the Holy Spirit to share a great and deep revelation with us. This went on for a few minutes and he finally got to the deep revelation. God is love and he that loves is of God. Thirty nine years have come and gone since that Sunday night but this deep revelation had a profound effect on Ruby and myself.
"These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; And you have preserved and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love." (Revelation 2:1-4)
Lord, cause each of us to hear your voice as you send us forth to share your great love. Thank you for the simplicity of your life in us as we purpose to be conformed into your very image. In your name with ask you to fill us to overflowing with your love. Glory!
