07/05/07 - THE SPIRIT OF GOD

"And also I think I have the Spirit of God." (1 Corinthians 7:40)

I pray that the above verse and what I am going to share with you today will help you in your relationship with our God. Our walk with God has to be centered in faith and not in sight or feelings. Our father Abraham was able to go with God not knowing because he trusted in what God had spoken to him in his spirit.

In August of 1968 the Lord baptized me in His Holy Spirit and for almost five months I walked in a physical anointing twenty four hours a day. It was glorious until one morning I discovered that the feeling was gone and I went into a panic mode. I cried and begged and repented for three days without any contact from heaven. I knew that I had done something drastically wrong for His sweet presence to leave me, but I did not have a clue of what I had done wrong.

During the third day of my misery the Lord returned the feeling of His presence for a few minutes and then it was gone again and then He spoke to me. The Lord shared with me that many of his people enter deception the same as Adam and Eve did through emotions. He shared with me that a true walk of faith is not based on feelings but on hearing him in our spirit and taking a stand based on the words that had proceeded out of the mouth of God.

Ruby and I had a great time with a precious group of folks in Austin Sunday. After I had shared from the pulpit the pastor told those who would like for me to pray with them to come forward. I prayed with many of these saints for over an hour. The Lord quickened many verses for different ones and a few personal prophecies. A woman wanted me to pray for her about her relationship with the Lord and those around her and the Lord quickened the verse in Hebrews where God anointed Jesus with the oil of gladness and when I shared this with her she began to stagger and feel to the floor laughing. Fifteen minutes later she was still giggling.

I thought to myself at the time that I wouldn't mind a good laugh myself. When the Mayor of Ariel speaks about Ruby and I he tells folks that we are the happiest people in his town. When we first moved to Israel we would have folks tell us that our joy would wear thin but in fact it hasn't – praise God. Jesus tells us that we will know the truth and the truth will set us free. The truth is that we are in Christ Jesus and because of His anointing we are anointed with the oil of gladness. If we believe this, then it becomes the responsibility of the Holy Spirit to do it. Glory! That woman believed the good news yesterday and the Holy Spirit confirmed it with sings following.

Amazingly Ruby nor myself felt anything yesterday but we saw with our own eyes the Lord confirming my preaching with signs following. Like Paul, I think we had the Spirit of God. The Lord spoke to me in January of 1969 and told me that He was going to work in me where I can not tell the difference between the natural and the Spirit. I am there. Glory! Even once in awhile I have a little glory spell and it is great, but my place in Jesus does not require me to live in an outer fleshly anointing to know I am secure in Him and doing the work of the ministry under His anointing. Praise God for faith that does not deceive.

Homer & Ruby Owen Thanks for being here with me. We truly appreciate your love and prayers and support. Thanks for purchasing our soap and other products. I received a precious testimony from a man that told me about his young son who had a severe case of eczema, even to the point of bleeding from scratching. After using our soap he tells us that his son is almost totally healed after only two weeks and he is able to sleep through the night. God is good.

Blessings, Homer Owen
