Last year the Lord had allowed me to pray for an Arab man who was having
serious back problems
and I witnessed a miracle that morning as the power of God flowed through
me into the body of this
Muslim. Jesus tells us that we are to love, not just our friends but
everyone. Lord, help us to grasp
your compassion on this issue of love today in a love starved world.
"I say to you, Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you in
order that you may be
sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the
evil and the good, and
sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who
love you, what reward
have you? Do not even the tax-gatherers do the same? And if you greet
your brothers only, what
do you do more than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
Therefore you are to be
perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:44-48)
Ronald Reagan made a profound statement one time when he said that God is
not always able to
use some folks because they are too high minded of themselves, but He is
always able to use a
humble person that prefers others over themselves. Scripture tells us to
not think too highly of
ourselves. (Romans 12:3)
When we come back to Israel and endeavor to share His love among these
people, both Jews and
Arabs, I am reminded of what the Lord showed me recently about the
relationship that Adam and
Eve had before the fall of mankind. They had no theology, just a love
relationship. Ruby and I have
shared our love with each other for almost fifty one years now. We have
not stayed together
because we were suppose to but because we love one another. It is 7 AM
here in Israel and we
just had a cup of coffee together here at the mini golf. I built a small
pond that we are able to sit
around and watch the gold fish and the local cats and all kinds of birds
come for a drink.
We have endeavored to provide a simple place here in the hills of Samaria
where we love folks
from all walks of life. Saturday we had a tour group stop by for ice cream
and one of the local
families was here having lunch when the tour bus pulled up. The man is
known as the local foul
mouthed person and it was a real joy to watch 50 people who are filled with
the love of God for this
land and these people love on this man and his wife. After the tour bus
left the couple stayed for
over two more hours talking about what they had just witnessed. God is
able to use us when we are
filled with His love.
"Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out
within our hearts through
the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still helpless, at
the right time Christ died for
the ungodly.....God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we
were yet sinners, Christ
died for us." (Romans 5:5-8)
My prayer for myself, you, and mankind is that we will be willing to lay
aside all theology that tends
to divide us from anyone and clothe ourselves with His great love. Jesus
came to tear down any
walls that divide so He can make us all like Adam and Eve in the beginning.
Praise God that Jesus
is our second Adam and we can walk with Him in pure love. His love is
constantly covering a
multitude of our short comings. We can do the same to those around us. We
can cover folks over
with His love that has flooded our hearts. Most of life is made up of
relationships. Let me encourage
each one of us to choose someone today that really does not deserve our
love and at least pray for
them and bless them in Jesus name. I bless you today in Jesus name. Homer
