03/28/07 - BEING DILIGENT FOR REST

"Therefore, let us fear lest, while a promise remains of entering His rest, anyone of you should seems to have come short of it. For indeed we have had the good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard……..Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fail through following the same example of disobedience."
(Hebrews 4:1, 11.)

Many years ago the Lord shared with me that He only put in scripture two places where we are to strive. The first is that we are to strive to enter into His rest. What God has for each of us has already been accomplished. The world has been saved and healed and delivered and on and on, For us to enter into salvation we simply have to believe the message and be obedient to the good news. It is the same for healing and all the other great blessings that God has given us in a perfect salvation.

The good news of the Kingdom of God is perfect in every aspect and respect. Glory! The Epistle to the Hebrews is primarily dealing with unbelief. This is what kept the Jews from entering into all the Lord had for them and it is the same for us. Today if we hear His voice we must believe and act upon what we have heard. Lord, grant us multiplied grace to first of all hear you today and then the grace to embrace your word that is good news. Cause us to say Yes, and Amen to what we are hearing.

We must recognize that something must be done with the word we are hearing. In the first verse of this fourth chapter we see that it is quite possible to hear the good news and still nothing happens because we have not united what we are hearing with faith. Faith is an action verb in this verse. In other words we must take action. How does this work on a daily basis in my life?

Can you imagine hearing someone say that they know God saves and they want to be saved sometime? We know that today is the day of salvation to anyone that believes. First to the Jew and then to the Gentile. A person simply has to believe that salvation is for who so ever and is a free gift from God. When a person confesses this word He is saved. He might not look like it or feel like it or even act like it at the moment but if he has truly believed and unites faith with his confession he will begin to look, feel and act like he is saved.

Yes, this person will most likely doubt his salvation the first time he stumbles but he has not lost his salvation, he has just lost his confidence in the good news that he heard and believed. Our faith must be in His faithfulness and not in ours. I love what the great apostle Paul says in his epistle to the Galatians.

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died needlessly." (Galatians 2:20-21)

The scripture always talks about us being saved in three dimensions. Body, soul and spirit. Praise God for a total salvation. Healing has already taken place for all of us. We were healed at the Cross. Glory! I have noticed that folks who have a hard time really believing they are saved both now and forever also have a hard time believing they are healed. Again, let us embrace the One who died for us and took not only our sins but also our sicknesses into His own body at the Cross and then came forth in resurrection power to grant us a total salvation.

Let me encourage you to never again say that you are believing God to save you or to heal you. We must learn to give thanks for all that was accomplished at Calvary and to thank the Lord for causing us to look, act and feel like we are saved and healed and are prospering. By His stripes we were healed. Glory! In my next e-pistle we will talk about the other area of our living that we are to strive in.

Homer & Ruby Owen Praise God for the testimonies of our soap and lip balm. Ruby and I continue to rejoice in His goodness to give us such wonderful products to share with you. Here is part of a recent testimony. It is awesome. "Homer, I have been using the soap and lip balm for about 2 weeks now and they are both awesome. I've suffered from chronic hives for years and the doctors don't know what causes the hives, but when I have a breakout, nothing alleviates the itching and burning. However, since using the olive oil soap, the hives have gone away. Thanks Homer and Ruby for providing this awesome soap." Signed "C".

You can order a sample bar of soap and lip balm for $7 total. Thanks for giving them a try. You will not be disappointed.
