"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written; 'The righteous will live by faith.'" (Romans 1:16-17)
"There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil; first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good; first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism." (Romans 2:9-11)
What our great friend and Apostle, Paul, is sharing with us in the opening words of this letter to the Church in Rome is very important for us to grasp. When he wrote this letter the Jews had been run out of Israel and were in the process of being run out of Rome. Many in the church were assuming that God was through with the Jews and that the Church had replaced the Jews. This is where we get the term, replacement theology. Much of the Church in our present day has bought into this false doctrine.
The truth of the matter is that we need to understand that our gracious and loving Father has allowed us to be placed into His salvation message, first to the Jew and then to the Gentile. I like to use the term, Placement theology. We must discover our place or placement into what God is doing. Lord Jesus, remove the blinders off of your people, first to the Jew and then to the Gentile. What a day we are living in as we see this actually taking place right before our eyes. God is faithful. Glory!
Close to thirty years ago the Lord spoke to me one day out of Psalms 2:8 with these words; "ASK OF ME".
I knew this verse and so I responded by asking the Lord for my inheritance in Him to the nations. In 1998 while Ruby and I were in Israel the Lord again spoke to us that we had an inheritance in His chosen land and people. It was based on that calling that we showed up in Israel in 2000. We felt very strongly that we were to go as business people and because of my past experience in the golfing industry we ended up in Ariel, building a miniature golf course and deli.
I will be in Israel next week to work with the folks the Lord has sent us to help look after our outreach in Israel. Don and Sheryl Patrick have been very faithful to walk along side Ruby and I at the mini golf and to look after the volunteer house where we have volunteers come and work with the local Jewish folks in learning to speak English. Many of you have blessed us over these years with your gifts and we truly appreciate your love and support.
I will stop over in London to speak in a church in Worthing on the 4th of February. Thanks for praying for His anointing to rest upon me as I endeavor to share His gospel with these folks. I am receiving many requests to come to other nations and share what the Lord has shown us about His Church and Israel. I know this is in fulfillment of my asking Him that day for the nations as my inheritance, but I feel like the Lord has been very gracious to allow us to do this in His proper order. First to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
I did not recognize how important this is in the heart of the Father until after we had been in Israel for a couple of years. We are grateful to the Lord for leading us in His way. My prayer is that the Church will see this truth and send a multitude of folks to His people first and then to the nations.
I want to encourage you today to sow your giving in this order. First to the Jew and then to the Gentile. I believe you will be blessing the Lord and He will in turn bless you. He has promised you that if you will do this He then will in turn prosper you. (Psalms 122:6) I am thankful that the Lord has given us a valid ministry where you can give, but we are not the only kids on the block in this outreach to Israel. If you do not feel led to help us at this time, let me encourage you to ask the Lord to show you who you are to help.
