01/12/07 - WELCOME ABOARD

This is a big day for me concerning this devotional in that we are adding a new list of folks to receive my thoughts each week. Ras Robinson, an old friend that I have known for almost thirty years has graciously allowed me to share with his friends that he sends out a daily communication to. So, if you are reading this for the first time welcome aboard and if you wish to continue to receive my little e-pistle a couple of times a week you need do nothing. After reading this today you decide to not hang around all you need do is click the unsubscribe button and you will not be bothered with me.

Fifty years ago the Lord gave me a helpmate named Ruby. This union produced four sons and they have fathered twenty children plus two grandchildren. Our quiver is truly full with the goodness of God. All twenty of the grandchildren along with their parents are walking with the Lord and I am sure that our two great grandchildren will follow along in His footsteps.

I have been a business man most of my life and since 1968 have endeavored to walk in the Spirit with the Lord with the work of my hands. In 1998 we took a tour to the Holy Land and on that trip the Lord spoke to us to return to Israel and build a miniature golf course in the hills of Samaria in the town of Ariel. By his grace we own and operate the Texas mini golf and deli on Haziounut street in Ariel, Israel. We have a cup of coffee waiting for you anytime you wish to stop by for a visit.

In the same year that we went to Israel the Lord impressed on my heart that He would be pleased if I would jot down on the internet this new adventure in Him. In January of 1999 I began sharing with folks like yourself a short update of this new walk of faith a couple times a week. I heard Ruby tell a friend recently that the past fifty years have not been boring and I pray that what I share with you each week is not boring. I am fully aware that most likely you are busy and we both are very grateful to you and the Lord if you decide to stay on my list. A scripture the Lord impressed on me way back in the beginning comes out of John 6. It is my desire to follow in His footsteps in like manner.

"The Spirit gives life: the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life." (John 6:63)

I believe the Lord would have us all to purpose that we will move and have our very being in him and that our testimony to those around us will encourage them to embrace the love and grace of the Lord in their own lives. These are exciting days to be alive as we endeavor to observe the Lord work to bring about all that He has spoken by the prophets. The apostle Peter tells us that all the prophets from Samuel on, who have spoken, have foretold these days and that we are heirs of these prophets and of the covenant God made with our fathers. (Acts 3:20-26)
