12/28/06 - A FIXED HEART

As I look out my office window this morning in the heart of Texas I am observing a weather change which is promising for rain today and tomorrow. Here we are at the opening of 2007 and the Lord is speaking to His people and telling them that changes are in store. I pray that we are ready for change. The Lord is making Himself known in a greater measure to those who have a heart for Him. The Lord is looking across the earth for those who have turned their hearts towards Him and He is promising special grace will be extended in the coming year to these folks.

Homer & Ruby Owen When our sons were in school we never spoke to them about their grades as long as they were passing, but we demanded they have good scores on attitude. I am not even sure they score our children these days on attitude. A positive frame of mind is vital to a walk of victory in the Spirit. God found in the heart of Abraham an attitude of believing and declared him to be righteous because he dared to believe God.

The Lord takes us from glory to glory and when He has the right of way in our lives we will experience the latter to be greater than the former. Remember He has not brought you out this far to take you back again but He has purposed to take you on into the promised land. I would encourage you to take all of your past promises and give thanks to the Lord for those that have been fulfilled and and give Him thanks for those that He is about to fulfill.

Many years ago we were part of a fellowship that was getting off line in some areas and we were praying about what we were to do. One Sunday afternoon, as I was out in the woods behind our house praying, the Lord quickened a verse out of Ecclesiastes to me that I had never seen and I began shouting and praising God for this new promise. That night at church we had a visiting speaker that operated in the realm of personal prophecy and in the middle of his sermon he stopped and began quoting this same verse in Ecclesiastes. I stood up and began shouting again. Glory!

"There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God….For God giveth to a man that is good in His sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God." (Ecclesiastes 2:24, 26)

The speaker then admitted that the Lord had shown him that passage for me that afternoon but it was for everyone if they so desired to take it. The truth of the matter was that the pastor had told this brother that I was having some trouble with the direction the church was going and to be careful in giving me any prophecy. I marvel at the goodness of God and how He shows Himself strong on our behalf as we fix our hearts on Him.

Lord, we are not just believing You for a great year of victory upon victory but we are believing You to make this the greatest year of our lives. Convict us quickly when we are not believing and trusting You in 2007. Cause us to discern your voice on a daily basis and to have a constant praise on our lips towards You.

"I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." (Psalms 34:1-3)

Homer & Ruby Owen I bless you today in the awesome name of Jesus and I give Him thanks for you. Thanks for being on my list and I look forward to sharing with you in 2007. Let us praise Him together in 2007, Homer Owen
