12/08/06 - DOUBLE MINDED CHURCH

"But He, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth." (Luke 11:17)

The Lord brought this scripture to the mind of Ruby the other morning while we were praying together. We were lifting up a group of men that I would be sharing with that morning and we were endeavoring to break through the religious shells in the power of His Spirit that many believers have grown up in. Over the years we have seen that one of the major tactics the enemy has used to keep both individuals and groups from walking a victorious life is to break up their life into many categories. Listen to what Webster says in giving the definition of this word CATEGORY. “An ultimate concept or form of thought; one of the primary fundamental conceptions to which all knowledge can be replaced."

One of the men in this group is a precious brother in the Lord that I have known for over 25 years. He wanted to share with the group that the Lord was breaking through a religious shell that he had grown up in believing that when he was sitting in a pew with other believers that he was actually in church and that the Lord was showing him that in fact he is the “church” and not some building or religious group. I shared with this group what the Lord had shown Ruby earlier that morning about a kingdom or house or person that is divided against itself is brought to desolation.

Jesus was responding to those who were accusing Him of casting out devils through Beelzebub. Part of His response was asking them who their sons used when they cast out devils. Jesus faced a strong religious mind set that you must do everything in the synagogue when it came to ministering to folks. Much of His ministry was out on the streets and on the Sabbath. The Lord’s ultimate plan for each of us is that we move and have our being in Him every moment of every day and what ever we are doing we are doing it all in His name.

A dear friend of mine asked me the other day if I did not think my peddling soap to you is not compromising my ministry to you? I began sharing with him how his own profession was ordained of God and that he had been called to minister to folks just as much on Monday as he did on Sunday. I was blessed to hear him say that he needed to hear what I was saying and that he would work on his thought life and look for more ways to love and minister to his clients on a daily basis. Glory!

The great Apostle Paul shared with the folks in Ephesus how he had walked for three years in their midst. The Lord spoke to me thirty eight years ago that He was calling me to walk the way Paul did and that I would lay my hands on pulpits across the earth as I shared about His kingdom and that I would pay my own way as Paul did. Let us look at this passage of scripture in Acts together for a moment.

"Therefore watch, and remember, that by the grace of three years I ceased not to admonish and exhort everyone night and day with tears. And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. You yourselves know personally that these hands ministered to my own needs and those who were with me. In everything I have pointed out to you by example that we ought to assist the weak, being mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:31-35)

Homer & Ruby Owen Thanks for putting up with this couple who find themselves in their seventies endeavoring to make a living with the work of their hands and at the same time to bring forth His thoughts into your everyday living. It is truly with great joy and satisfaction to be able to offer you a great bar of soap as a part of our ministry to you. In the past week I have had three men share with me how our soap has cleared up major skin problems and they expressed their gratitude to us for providing this 100% cold pressed olive oil soap. Thanks for blessing us as you purchase our soap for yourself and your friends.

May you continue to be blessed in Jesus name, Homer Owen.
